Thanks to Jon Favreau we may actually see John Carter of Mars. Aint it cool news has an interview with the director of the upcoming Zathura and his new job as director of John Carter of Mars, hopefully to come out someday. Its a great interview and a great series of books that has taken way too long to be made into a movie. For me, Edgar Rice Burroughs defines action, and no series of books can lay claim to inspiring more science fiction writers than the Martian Tales. The only problem now is casting Jon Carter, Dejah Thoris, and making Tars Tarkus the badass I know he is. Normally I would post pictures of who I think should play Dejah Thoris, but no one can be that perfect. Can they?
